So why the heck does this even matter? Why does punk culture need to be preserved for the future.

Well, the simple answer is because punk rock is freaking epic.

But the real answer is that punk rock is a beautiful method of resistance. Punk gives power back to the youth. Punk gives autonomy and freedom to people who may not have it. Punk brings people together time and time again like no other subculture can.

So preserving its magic made from authenticity matters. It is clearly a movement that can only thrive under pressure. And that pressure is the pressure of having something to say and something to fight for.

But only time will tell just how long we can do so.
